INTRODUÇÃO

Halloween é uma festa comemorativa celebrada todo ano no dia 31 de Outubro, véspera do dia de Todos os Santos. Ela é realizada em grande parte dos países ocidentais, porém é mais representativa nos Estados Unidos. Neste país, levada pelos imigrantes irlandeses, ela chegou em meados do século XIX.

Objetivo

É Fazer com que os alunos conheçam a cultura Americana.

Levando ao educando o conhecimento dos seguintes mitos e lendas:

·         História do dia da s Bruxas;

·         Lobisomem;

·         Vampiro;

·         Símbolos e tradições.

Por meio de mitos e lendas, trazer também ao conhecimento do aluno a tradição da cultura Americana como: Comida típica; Danças e crenças.

Desenvolvimento

Como Halloween é uma festividade que atrai os alunos.

Nas aulas de Inglês, deve ter seu espaço com atividades de aprendizagem além de promover cultura geral.

Iniciar a aula conversando sobre tradições, sobre superstições; medos e pesadelos.

Com a pergunta “Do you believe in ghosts?” proporcionar um debate.

(Reservar um tempo para a troca de ideias.)

Questionar quanto à expressão "nightmare". O que significa? Como são os "nightmares" de vocês?

Vamos ver que personagens podem habitar nossos "nightmares" no vídeo a seguir.

Este vídeo apresenta um capítulo do filme de Tim Burton - "The nightmare before Christmas", nele podemos assistir a música "This is Halloween" cantada pelos personagens do filme.

Após a turma assistir ao vídeo uma vez, entregar a letra para que  observem a pronúncia.

Atividade I

Questions:           

·   What do you know about Halloween?        

·   What would you like to know about it?

Apresentar indagações para pesquisa em grupo como:

- Origin of the words: Halloween, All Hallows’ Day..

- Foods

- Halloween around the world.

- Religious perspectives.

- Symbols.

- Habits.

Após a pesquisa os grupos organizarão textos com as informações obtidas. Bank of words:

Criar um cartoon alusivo à data.

Atividade II

Sugestão apresentar as palavras em fichas, estudar a pronúncia e o significado.

Pumpkins / ghosts / candle / nose / eyes / skeletons / apples / cakes / teeth / seeds / pirates / witches / mouth / candy.

E produzir frases aproveitando as palavras acima.

Para finalizar a atividade, fazer com que os alunos pesquisem:

Apresentação de Danças típicas;

Comida típica;

E concurso de fantasias e mascaras.
